School Security
Hello, Seaford School District families. The tragedy in Newtown Connecticut will force a re-examination of all safety procedures in place in schools throughout the country and locally. In Seaford the district safety team will be tasked with making recommendations about how best to keep our buildings secure and our students and staff safe going forward.
Please be advised that we will be further limiting access to our buildings for all visitors. If you have a need to visit one of our schools for any reason, please be prepared to show picture identification, state the reason for your visit and have your name placed on the sign-in sheet at the school. Visitors may only enter the front door at the Manor, Harbor and Middle School and the east door by the gymnasium at the high school. If the door is locked upon your arrival, please be patient until a staff member greets you at the door and directs you accordingly.
The counselors in our schools will be prepared to address the issues that may arise from the sad and sobering images of this tragedy. We ask that you limit the access of your child to the news reports and communicate any specific concerns your child may be exhibiting by contacting your child’s teacher(s).
We thank you for your continued cooperation as we work together to insure the physical and emotional well being of all of our students and families. Please keep the people of Newtown Connecticut in your thoughts at this difficult time.
