A Happy Hundredth Day at Harbor

The 100th day of school at Seaford Harbor Elementary School was filled with counting activities as kindergartners celebrated a milestone moment in their educations on Feb. 13. Many wore special hats declaring themselves “100 Days Smarter.”

Children looked into the future about 95 years, dressing up as 100-year-olds and parading around the school to start of the day. They returned to their classrooms for learning centers where they built towers out of 100 plastic cups or wooden blocks and made necklaces out of 100 beads. Another popular activity was creating gumball machines on circular white paper with 100 stamps. Children also learned different ways to count to 100 and read books including “The Night Before the 100th Day of School” and “Kindergarten County to 100.”
