STUDENT AND FACULTY BORROWING POLICY
SEAFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER
Students may borrow up to four titles simultaneously. When checking out books, students should go the checkout desk with the books that are being checked out. Please tell the library staff your first and last name and spell it if necessary. Books are checked out for a period of two weeks with the due date stamped in the book. Books can be renewed on or before the due date for an additional two weeks as long as no one else has a reserve on that book. If a book you want to read is already checked out, please see library staff to put a reserve on that book. It will be personally delivered to you in one of your classes when available. Fines of ten cents per school day are charged for books that are late with a two dollar maximum fine per book. Any students who have outstanding library obligations must take care of them with library staff before checking out additional materials. Reference books are to be used in the library only. Back issues of magazines circulate for a period of one week and may be renewed for an additional week. Phone calls home are made for outstanding library obligations. Lost or damaged materials should be paid for or replaced as soon as loss is discovered. Students who return or replace the item within three months after payment will be reimbursed in the manner in which payment was originally made, i.e. cash or check. Teachers may borrow books, magazines, videos and other materials as needed. Arrangements should be made with Mrs. Golub if materials will be required for more than thirty days.Tip: The Seaford Middle School Student Planner is an important organizational tool that can be used to keep track of due dates for library materials, quizzes, tests, and other assignments and projects for all classes.
