-
STEM is the abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering & Math. It’s an integrated approach to learning that encourages students to think more broadly about real-world problems. In a STEM program students get exposure to hands-on learning that challenges them to think critically and creatively, and lets them apply important content knowledge in meaningful ways.
It helps students:
- Ask questions
- Connect the dots
- Problem solve
- Think creatively
- Be innovative
Math instruction is always evolving, with new approaches to pedagogy, engagement, and technology. GO Math!® meets students and teachers on their math journey, raising student achievement scores and supporting teachers along the way.
Engaging today’s students, GO Math! provides a wealth of differentiated instruction resources across interactive platforms that is balanced and follows the 5E instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) developing mathematical understanding in students. Content connects with today’s learners, such as Math in Careers, which challenges students to envision the role math can play in their college and career plans. Curriculum is divided into to parts, Domains and Mathematical Practices.
In our STEM program, students will question like a scientist, design like a technologist, build like an engineer. create like an artist and deduce like a mathematician. The tabs to the left will provide information of the STEM program at each grade level here at Seaford.
