Child Find

Under IDEA and NYS regulations, each school district is required to create procedures to find and identify students who may need special education services or Section 504 services. The district has an obligation to identify, locate, and evaluate all children between 3 and 21 years of age who are suspected of having a disability and may be entitled to special education services, including children within the school district who are not currently enrolled in a Seaford public school program. The child find process begins with an initial referral to the CSE.

If you know of a child who resides within the Seaford UFSD who may have a disability and may need Special Education or Section 504 services, please contact the building principal or the Office of Pupil Personnel Services at 516-592-4360.
