    Students leaders are an integral part of a school community, especially at Seaford High School where their thoughts and idea are valued. Each year, a small group of sophomores is invited to the attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth leadership program, commonly known as HOBY.

  • Moving-up Motorcades for Seaford Fifth Graders

    Middle school will be the next stop for recent graduates of Seaford Harbor and Seaford Manor elementary schools, who were recognized at a pair of unique moving-up ceremonies. The COVID-19 pandemic meant that students and their families couldn’t gather together in the high school auditorium, but instead the two elementary buildings served as backdrops for the outdoor celebrations.

    One of the most anticipated nights of the year in the Seaford School District is the annual art show and since it couldn't be held in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an online student art gallery was created.

  • Seniors Celebrate the Past and Future

    Seaford High School seniors got a special, socially distant send-off on June 1, returning to the place where they made so many memories in the last four years until the COVID-19 pandemic closed schools. Teachers, coaches and administrators lined the parking lot to cheer for the soon-to-be graduates as they passed through in a car parade.

    With education transformed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students have adjusted to new ways of learning using a multitude of digital tools. Seaford High School recently launched its Virtual Vikings recognition program to highlight students who “despite these unique and challenging circumstances, are bringing great energy and fortitude to their academics.”

  • Padlet Provides Poetry Sharing Platform at Harbor School

    Padlet is serving as a virtual bulletin board for second graders in Krista Clark’s class at Seaford Harbor Elementary School. With students participating in distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they took to the Internet to share their writing from the recent poetry unit.

  • Spirit Remains Strong for Seaford Seniors

    Although they cannot be together in person, Seaford High School seniors remain united as a class through the COVID-19 pandemic. Class of 2020 officers meet digitally at least once a week to share ideas that keep their connections strong.

  • Seaford Shines a Light for Senior Athletes

    Seaford High School celebrated its senior athletes by lighting up its athletic complex on May 1, joining high schools across Nassau County in honoring the Class of 2020. In addition, Seaford families were encouraged to turn their lights on and off beginning at 8:20 p.m., which is 20:20 in military time.
